Xiaomi’s gaming phone company Black Shark, earlier this year, unveiled the Black Shark 4 series with a Snapdragon 888 SoC. The phones feature a 144Hz display and 120W fast charging for the 4500 mAh battery. A few months down the line and the company is already working on the successor of its current flagship. According to a new leak, the upcoming Black Shark phone will launch with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ SoC. The top-of-the-line Qualcomm mobile processor is also found on the newly launched Mi Mix 4 and the Honor Magic 3 series. Black Shark 5 specs tipped
Black Shark 5 series could debut soon. Ahead of the launch, the specs and key details of the upcoming flagship gaming phone have leaked. Tipster Digital Chat Station states that the upcoming Black Shark flagship will have the model number KTUS-A0. It will come with a Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. The SoC’s prime core CPU gets boosted to 2.995GHz, compared to 2.84GHz on the SD888 SoC. It also gets 20 per cent improved AI performance over the SD888 SoC.
Digital Chat Station further notes that the phone might support 100W fast charging. To compare, the Black Shark 4 series supports 120W fast charging. We can expect its successor to also support 120W fast charging out of the box. Other details of the upcoming Black Shark phones have not been revealed at the moment.
The company has not made any official statement or dropped a teaser regarding the rumoured launch. We advise our readers to take the leaked information with a pinch of salt. The Black Shark 5 series is expected to come with minor upgrades over the current flagship series, which already packs premium hardware for a 2021 phone.
