The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Mumbai Traffic Police have come up with a steep new fine structure to deal with illegal parking offenders. Parking on the road around a 500m radius of the places mentioned below is prohibited now.
Parking
All classes of vehicles are covered by this fine structure. Two-wheelers will be fined between Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,300 while three-wheeler owners will have to shell out Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,200. The fine for LMVs is between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,100. For bigger vehicles like Medium Motor Vehicles, the fines rise to between Rs 11,000 and Rs 17,600. The highest fines are for heavy vehicles, their owners pay between Rs 15,000 and Rs 23,250. These charges include the penalty, towing charges and the late payment fees.
