The next-gen OnePlus flagship is in the works, and there have been plenty of leaks around it already. Rumours suggest that the OnePlus 10 Pro will launch in the first quarter of 2022. Following the footsteps of previous OnePlus flagships, the upcoming model will ship with the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. CEO Pete Lau revealed the information in a Weibo post, where he stated that the company’s upcoming flagship would be powered by the 8 Gen 1 chipset.
In previous leaks, the complete design of the alleged OnePlus 10 Pro has been revealed. The design appears to be starkly different from what we have seen on previous OnePlus devices—especially the rear camera, which can be seen with a square camera module that bends around the edge.
It is quite obvious that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be packed with top of the line specs. Going by the leaks, the OnePlus 10 Pro will sport a QHD+ OLED panel, triple rear Hasselblad cameras and a 5000mAh battery with support for 125W fast charging. OnePlus 10 Pro: Specs and features
--OnePlus recently joined the list of Android OEMs that are working on 8 Gen 1 powered phones. OnePlus made the announcement on Weibo. Soon after which, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the new chipset would be included in the company's next-generation devices. Although Lau didn’t mention the device names, It’s quite obvious that the OnePlus 10 Pro will feature Qualcomm’s flagship chipset.
--The OnePlus 10 Pro is likely to launch in the first quarter of 2022. However, this time China launch is supposed to take place earlier than the global launch. From what we have heard, the China launch will take place in January or February. While the global launch will take place in March or April.
--Leaks have revealed the complete design of the OnePlus 10 Pro. As per this, the OnePlus 10 Pro will feature a big square camera module on the rear that bends towards the edge. The implementation looks similar to the S21 Ultra, but it's nothing we have seen on a OnePlus device before. The Hasselblad branded rear camera module holds a triple camera setup with an LED flash. Whereas on the front, it has a curved punch-hole display.
OnePlus 10 Pro leaked image--There’s no doubt that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The newly launched chipset succeeds over the Snapdragon 888 processor, which powers the OnePlus 9 series. It is the first Qualcomm chipset to be based on a 4nm manufacturing process. As per Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 offers up to 20 per cent faster CPU performance, and 30 per cent increased efficiency than the Snapdragon 888 chipset.
--In another leak, Digital Chat Station suggests that the zoom capabilities on the upcoming OnePlus 10 Pro will be similar to the OnePlus 9 Pro. It means that we may see an 8-megapixel lens on the OnePlus 10 Pro, which will be able to capture 3.3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom.
--A few specifications of the OnePlus 10 Pro have also been leaked. As per which, the smartphone may measure 163.0 x 73.8 x 8.5mm. The OnePlus 10 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch circa display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be offered with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage. OnePlus 10 Pro could be powered by a 5000mAh battery with support for 125W fast charging. This could potentially turn out to be the fastest charging device as the current commercial benchmark is set at 120W.
--If the renders are true, the OnePlus 10 Pro will get a triple rear camera system, one of which is said to be an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with similar zoom capabilities to the OnePlus 9 Pro. While the other two will be 48-megapixel and 50-megapixel cameras, respectively. At the front, it may feature a 32-megapixel shooter for selfies.
--The OnePlus 10 Pro will be the first big device post the merger of OnePlus and Oppo. This is expected to bring a few changes, with the most significant being on the software front. As part of these changes, we will see a unified OS on the OnePlus 10 Pro developed by the fusion of Color OS and Oxygen OS.
OnePlus 10 Pro launch
The OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2022. Leaks suggest that the device will launch in China first around January or February. While the global launch will take place later in March or April. The OnePlus 9 series arrived on March 23, so an early launch is undoubtedly on the cards.
OnePlus 10 Pro India price
The OnePlus 10 Pro will be the brand's flagship device in 2022. While there's no information on the pricing yet, we expect to see a rise, going by the previous trends. For reference, the OnePlus 8 Pro was launched at a starting price of Rs 54,999. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro was introduced at Rs 64,999 with a steep price bump of Rs 10,000. So we can expect the OnePlus 10 Pro to start at a higher price of Rs 74,999, following the trend.
