Oppo is keeping the pressure up in the Indian smartphone market by launching low priced phone to take on competition. While its sub- brand Realme launched the Realme 3 Pro yesterday, it is the Oppo A5s today. The phone has some decent specifications for the price point of just under Rs 10,000.
Here are the key specifications of the new Oppo A5s launched for the Indian market:
The phone has dimensions of 155.9mmx75.4mmx8.2mm and weighs 170gms. The design aspect is highlighted by the rear panel having a mirror-like finish. The front display is of 6.2 inches and the IPS-LCD touchscreen has an aspect ratio of 19:9 (81.6% screen-to-body ratio). The screen resolution is 720x1520pixels. There is a waterdrop shaped notch that will house the front camera. With the octa-core Helio MediaTek P35SoC being the main processor, the Oppo A5s is being released with 2 RAM options, 2GB and 4GB. The 2GB phone will have an onboard storage of 32GB and 64GB will be the storage for the 4GB device. A dedicated slot for a microSD card is also being provided.
The camera specifications too have been kept at the budget phone levels with a dual 13MP+2MP rear camera setup and an 8MP selfie camera in the front. The 2MP camera functions as the depth sensor. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.
The battery is huge at 4230mAh. This is a dual SIM card phone with complete connectivity and communications options on tap. The Oppo A5s can be purchased in 4 colours, red, black green and gold.
The price of the 2GB/32GB variant of the Oppo A5s in the Indian market, as indicated earlier is Rs 9,990. The phone is already on sale and can be purchased online from Amazon, Flipkart, Tata CLiQ and PayTM Mall. The other higher variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will be released sometime next month. Its price has not been indicated. This device is expected to take on the likes of Realme 3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 in the market.
