Xiaomi flip phone patent
Xiaomi has filed a new patent on the CNIPA for a flip phone with a foldable display. The folding mechanism seems similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details about the flip-style foldable smartphone at the time of writing this. While we wait for that, let’s check what the images reveal about the flip phone.
On the outside, the Xiaomi flip smartphone has a rectangular island. It houses a tiny screen and a dual-camera setup. Above the camera module (when folded), there is a cutout, which is likely for the LED flash.
1 of 7Upon unfolding the smartphone, there is a tall display. We currently do not have the details of the screen size. What we do know is that there is a pill-shaped cutout at the top left corner. It could house a dual-front camera setup. The screen has thick bezels around it. On the right side of the frame are the power and volume keys.
The bottom edge houses the USB Type-C port, a speaker grille and the SIM tray. The left and top edges are flush and do not house any ports or buttons. Other details of the flip phone remain unknown. We will share more details as and when available. The Xiaomi flip phone could launch next year with a competitive price to take on the Samsung Z Flip series. As mentioned above, there are no official details on the same.
