The iQOO Z5 unveiled last September will get a successor on March 16, dubbed iQOO Z6 5G. iQOO's Indian branch gave us a glimpse of the Z6 5G's design yesterday, and now it has posted a short YouTube video, giving us a better look at the iQOO Z6 5G while also revealing its key specs and price segment.
The iQOO Z6 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC, pack a 120Hz FullHD+ display with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
iQOO says the Z6 5G scored 410,563 points in the AnTuTu 9 tests, which is more than what a couple of other smartphones with Snapdragon 695 at the helm clocked in our tests. It's also worth noting that the unit that ran AnTuTu 9 had 8GB RAM and 128GB storage onboard.
iQOO is touting the Z6 5G as the fastest 5G smartphone in the INR15,000-18,000 ($195/€180 - $235/€215) segment on Amazon.in, suggesting the Z series will now be targeted at a different category. The iQOO Z5 was launched in India with a base price of INR23,990 ($315/€285).
iQOO also showed off the Z6 5G in two colors, and it looks like the smartphone will be a version of the vivo T1 5G launched in India last month (the T1 in China is entirely different), starting at INR14,990 ($195/€180).
vivo T1 5G Indian modelIf that happens, you'll get a 6.58" LCD, Android 11-based Funtouch OS 12, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging. The camera department will consist of a 16MP selfie shooter, with the 50MP primary unit on the back joined by 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors.
We expect iQOO to reveal more about the Z6 5G in the days leading to the March 16 launch.
