Mobile World Congress is finally back with its in-person event in Barcelona, Spain this year. The largest annual tech trade show was cancelled in 2020 and postponed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. MWC 2022 will be a 4-day event starting from February 28th till March 3rd.

Ahead of the tech fair that begins next week, a host of brands have confirmed their presence. Smartphone OEM’s showcase their technological innovations that are due for the coming year. Here’s a list of brands that have announced their events at the upcoming show and what to expect from them.

Realme

Realme has scheduled an event on February 28th called ‘Greater than you see’ at the MWC. The brand is set to unveil the world’s fastest charging technology. The exact charging speed is not known yet but as per rumours, the company is expected to announce 150W charging tech. Realme has also confirmed that it will debut the GT 2 series smartphones including the standard and Pro variants at the same event.
OPPO
At the upcoming MWC, OPPO’s theme is called ‘Shape the Future’. The brand will focus on showcasing multiple products including new connectivity, mobile technologies, and achievements in AR and 5G. The company says that it will also introduce its flagship products at MWC.
OPPO will set up five exhibition areas at its booth titled ‘brand’, ‘flagship’, ‘smartphone technology’, ‘5G’, and ‘AR Ecosystem’.
Honor

Honor is confirmed to unveil its Honor Magic 4 series smartphones at the MWC 2022. The launch event will take place at 1 pm CET (5:30 pm IST) on February 28th. The Magic 4 series will arrive as the successor to last year’s Magic 3 series. The brand has confirmed that the upcoming offering will be powered by a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The teaser also reveals that it will retain the same circular camera module like its predecessor.

Samsung has confirmed its presence at this year’s MWC. The South Korean brand has sent invitations to ‘discover a new era of connected mobile devices’ on February 27th at 7 pm local time. The company hasn’t revealed what it plans to launch at the upcoming trade show. However, the official invitation shows a laptop alongside the recently announced smartphones. Samsung is expected to unveil the next-generation Galaxy Book laptops at the event.

Xiaomi sub-brand POCO will unveil the POCO X4 Pro 5G and M4 Pro 5G smartphones at MWC. The launch event is scheduled to take place on February 28th at 1 pm CET (5:30 pm IST). It will also be live streamed on the brand’s YouTube channel as well as social handles.
The POCO M4 Pro 5G debuted in global markets last November and it also arrived in India last week. On the other hand, the rumoured POCO X4 Pro will come as the successor to the X3 Pro. It is tipped to be a rebranded Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
