ISLAMABAD – Exchange rate of the Pakistan rupee depreciated by 48 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs178.61 against the previous day’s closing of Rs178.13. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs178.3 and Rs179.5 respectively. Similarly, the price of the euro was appreciated by 18 paisas and closed at Rs193.93 against the previous day’s closing of Rs193.75. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.54, whereas a decrease of Rs1.38 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs233.82 as compared to its last closing of Rs235.20. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 13 paisas to close at Rs48.62 and Rs47.60 respectively.
