Counterpoint Research is back with another research report. This time around, it has revealed its list of the top 10 best-selling smartphones in 2021. Apple has topped this list with its vanilla iPhone 12, but there is good news for Samsung as well.
Notably, the Samsung Galaxy A12 was the best-selling Android smartphone in 2021. This is quite impressive because of the fact that there are multiple players in the mid-range segment like Xiaomi, OPPO, Realme, etc.
Talking about the list of the best-selling smartphones in 2021, the top 5 ranks in the list were occupied by the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 11. So, it’s an Apple iPhone party all the way. The Galaxy A12 follows in sixth place. According to Counterpoint Research, North America, Latin America, and Western Europe were the top markets for the Galaxy A12.
The Galaxy A12 is indeed a value-for-money device, and it getting the best-selling Android smartphone for the 2021 title isn’t a surprise. The Galaxy A12 sells for under $200. It offers great battery life, Samsung’s long-term software update support, and a pretty design. Though there aren’t any out-of-the-world features of the segment on the Galaxy A12, it covers the basics just right.
Furthermore, Xiaomi was the only Android smartphone maker in the top-10 list for 2021. It got the 7th spot with its Redmi 9A and the 10th position with its Redmi 9. Now that Apple has recently launched its mid-range iPhone SE 2022, it will be interesting to see what Android smartphone makers have in store for us.
