If you live in Europe, Australasia, or Asia, you've probably come across a few Oppo smartphones.
While Oppo might not be as much of a household name as Samsung in markets like the UK and US, it's actually frequently one of the top five global smartphone brands (on market share) on a regular basis.
We've already seen a shift towards Western tastes and more competitive devices across the board, with constant reworkings and improvements to its Android software skin - ColorOS - alongside more powerful, capable phones like its latest 5G flagship, the Oppo Find X3 Pro.
The Find X3 Pro is joined by the Find X3 Neo and Lite in the company's current flagship line, though last year's Find X2 series is also still on sale - and thanks to price drops many of the Find X2 phones are still excellent buys. Keep an eye out for the company's next line of flagships soon too - the Find X5.
The company's Reno line doesn't launch reliably in the UK and Europe, but 2020's Reno 4 options are still around. Then there are the company's budget offerings within the Oppo A series.

Best Oppo phones 2022
1Oppo Find X3 Pro - Best Oppo phone
The Find X3 Pro is Oppo's all-singing, all-dancing flagship device, and it earns its spot at the top of this chart.
Yes, it's expensive, and there's no denying that. But you get the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and 65W wired charging together with 30W wireless.
The main and ultrawide cameras both pack the same 50Mp sensor, and offer almost exactly the same quality shots, with punchy colours, oodles of detail, and great dynamic range. There's 'only' a 2x zoom camera - no periscopic lens here, sadly - but you also get a novel new microlens camera, capable of taking super-closeup shots.
Those cameras are capable of outputting images in 10-bit colour, and in fact the phone supports true 10-bit storage and encryption too, right through to the 10-bit, 120Hz, WQHD+ display - possibly the best in any phone right now.
This is not just Oppo's best phone, but one of the best flagships on the market from any company.

2Oppo Find X2 Pro - Best former flagship
The Oppo Find X2 Pro may be over a year old now, but it's still a phenomenal phone by any measure. The 6.7in, 10-bit, 120Hz, QHD+ panel remains one of the best displays in any phone right now and Oppo backs it up with 65W wired charging, and a top-tier camera that boasts two 48Mp lenses and up to 10x hybrid zoom.
You’ll have to live without wireless charging, and the choice between bland grey ceramic or garish green or orange vegan leather finishes might leave some struggling to find a design that suits their style.
For pure performance though, the Find X2 Pro is still a beast, with all of the above plus a Snapdragon 865, 512GB storage and 12GB RAM. The biggest downside used to be the £1,099 asking price, but it's now available for much less, and all the better for it.

3Oppo Find X2 - Fast charging for less
The Oppo Find X2 only loses out on a few of the most elite touches found on the Find X2 Pro. It still retains a premium design, a superb display, flagship-class performance and that all-important 65W fast charging.
It's over a year old now, but that's brought price reductions which mean it undercuts more recent flagships by a significant margin, delivering exceptional value for money right now.

4Oppo Find X2 Neo - Best mid-range
You'd be forgiven for mistaking the Find X2 Neo for a fully-fledged flagship, with a stunning display, versatile cameras, great fast-charging and more.
At launch the Neo was a little on the pricey side, but it's gotten cheaper since, making it a better buy than the more recent Find X3 Neo. If it's a thin, stylish design you're after, this should serve you well for a long time.

5Oppo Find X3 Lite - Affordable 5G
The Oppo Find X3 Lite is a step up from the previous generation, there’s no denying it. The design improvements may be small, but overall they deliver a much more refined aesthetic and feel.
Factor in the Snapdragon 765G chipset (with 5G support), a 90Hz display, and 65W fast charging and you have a phone that delivers a decent amount for the price.
That said, the mid-range space is extremely competitive and the specs here - especially the camera - don't always hold up against rivals from other manufacturers; you can get more for less elsewhere.
Nonetheless, that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is still a solid phone, and one to consider if you want a device that strikes an even balance between good features and reasonable pricing.

6Oppo A54 5G
The Oppo A54 5G is a competitively priced budget 5G phone that's a great choice if you want the latest connectivity tech but don't have a lot to spend - though it does come with compromises within that.
First, the good stuff. The 90Hz LCD display, excellent battery life, and unexpectedly strong camera make this a reliable option despite the price.
As for the bad? You'll have to put up with slow charging - just 10W - and a sub-par chipset, which leaves the A54 stuttering and freezing every now and then.
While this isn't the only 5G phone that costs this little, it's one of the stronger options out there.

7Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G
An impressive blend of design, performance and camera capabilities, with 5G and 65W fast charging being particular highlights.
If you don't need the Reno 4 Pro 5G's specific blend of attributes, however, there's little you have to sacrifice to nab a similar experience for less elsewhere.

8Oppo Find X3 Neo
The Oppo Find X3 Neo is a solid phone, but it can't help but feel a bit backward - the result of the fact that it's actually the 2020 Oppo Reno 5 Pro+, re-branded for the western market.
We love the slim design, fast 65W charging, and reliable camera performance, but the use of 2020's Snapdragon 865 chipset and a 90Hz display prevent the Find X3 Neo from feeling truly competitive at full price.

9Oppo Reno 4Z 5G
An affordable 5G phone, the Reno 4Z 5G boasts a 120Hz high refresh rate display, decent night mode photography and - most interestingly of all - one of the first examples of MediaTek's Dimensity 800 chipset.
With performance that punches above its weight and a compelling price point, it's easy to like the Reno 4Z 5G and it'd be a slam dunk were it not for the similarly-specced Realme 7 5G, which offers even greater value for money.

10Oppo A53
Performance holds the A53 back from being agreat budget offering but it still impresses, thanks to a smooth 90Hz display and outstanding longevity from its 5000mAh battery.
Its design is also pretty appealing and if you prefer Oppo's ColorOS user experience to OnePlus's this makes for a great alternative to its doppelgänger, the OnePlus Nord N100.
