Today at Amazon, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is priced at $229. It’s been going for around $250 as of late and is currently as high as $270 through other platforms making this one of the best offers around for the processor.
We reviewed the Ryzen 5 5600X and others in the same line when it first debuted and appreciated the upgrades it brought with an overall favorable response. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X isn’t the latest processor but it has enough performance that warrants some additional attention given its recent price cut.

It uses Zen 3 core architecture and first made an appearance in November of 2020. Like all of AMD's current desktop processors, it's intended to be paired with a recent-generation AM4 motherboard.
This particular model has 6 cores for a total of 12 threads. The max boost clock speed can reach as high as 4.6GHz while the base clock rests at 3.7GHz.
The official specifications indicate 3MB of L2 cache and 32MB of L3 cache. It supports PCIe 4.0 and is compatible with DDR4-3200. This edition includes a Wraith Stealth stock cooler from AMD but this can easily be upgraded if desired.
