In Q4 2021, Nokia Mobile shipped 3.2 million smartphones and 11.2 million feature phones

When we look at the smartphone shipments, HMD Global managed to deliver 3.2 million Nokia smartphones during Q4 2021, which seems to be their best quarter since Q3 2019. The global smartphone ranking puts HMD in 14th place, a 2 place improvement compared to Q4 2020. The smartphone shipment grew 17% compared to Q3 2021 and 35% compared to Q4 2020, according to Counterpoint. The growth was driven by markets like South East Asia and Western Europe.

In terms of feature phones, the Finns were the global number 2 in feature phone shipments by delivering 11.2 million units. That represent a year-on-year decline of 8%, but a growth of 13% compared to Q3 2021. In total, during Q4 2021 HMD Global shipped 14.4 million handsets – 3.2 million smartphones and 11.2 million feature phones.

If we look at the data of full year 2021, we can approximate that the company shipped 10.9 million smartphones and 42.3 million feature phones, making the total 53.2 million Nokia handsets delivered to the market. Keep in mind that this is an approximation, as for some quarters we calculate the numbers based on growth / decline, and not using the exact number of units shipped. This means that the real result could be different, but not significantly.
