First, on the list, the BBK smartphone manufacturer Vivo launched its Vivo Y55 5G in the global market on January 17th. Realme and Tecno launched their Realme 9i and Tecno POP 5 Pro in India on January 18th. Honor also released its Honor Magic V in the global market on January 18th. Lastly, Xiaomi debuted its Xiaomi 11T Pro in India on January 19th. Let’s take a detailed overview of each smartphone.
Smartphones launched this week in January
Vivo Y55 5G
The BBK smartphone manufacturer Vivo has launched its Vivo Y55 5G in Taiwan on January 17th. The device is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The handset houses a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD display.
As for the cameras, the Y55G comes with a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP sensor for depth, and a 2MP macro unit. It has an 8GB selfie shoot on the front. Vivo Y55 5G retails at NTD 7,990 (around Rs 21,600). It is available in two colour options: Black and Blue.
Realme 9i
Realme debuted in India on January 18th, starting at Rs 13,999. The device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage that is further expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. Realme 9i has a 6.6-inch Full HD+ 90Hz display. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. The company claims the 33W fast charger can charge the 9i from 0-100 in 70 mins.
As for the cameras, Realme 9i has a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. It has a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. It comes with two colour options: Blue and Black.
Tecno POP 5 Pro
Tecno POP 5 Pro has launched in India on January 18th. The device has a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage that is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. It packs a massive 6,000mAh battery.
As for the cameras, Tecno POP 5 Pro flaunts an 8MP dual-camera setup at the back and a 5MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. Additionally, the device comes with support for 14 regional languages, and IPX2 splash protection. Honor Magic V
Honor Magic V is a flagship foldable smartphone launched on January 18th in China. It has a 7.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, it has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It draws power from a 4,750mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. The company claims the 66W fast charger can charge the Magic V from 0-50 in 15 mins.
As for the cameras, the Magic V has a 50MP triple camera setup at the back and a whopping 42MP selfie shooter on the front. Honor Magic V retails at $ 2,399 (around Rs 1,79,000), available in three colour options: Titanium Silver, Black, Burnt Orange.
Xiaomi 11T Pro
Xiaomi 11T Pro has debuted in India as ‘Hyperphone’ on January 18th. The handset has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. It packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. The company claims the 120W fast charger can charge the 11T Pro from 0-100 in 17 mins.
As for the cameras, the 11T Pro houses a triple camera setup, including a 108MP primary camera, an 8MP wide camera, and a 5MP macro sensor. It has a 16MP selfie shooter on the front.
