Vivo Y55s 5G with 6000mAh battery launched, price set at roughly Rs 20,000

The Vivo Y55s has been launched in China. It is the first smartphone by Vivo to feature a 6,000mAh lithium battery. Apart from the massive battery size, the Y55s is packed with several more exciting features.

Just like the recently unveiled Vivo Y54s and Vivo Y76 5G smartphones, the 5G enabled Y55s is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. The Vivo Y55s features a dewdrop notch 6.58 inches display. The screen is an LCD panel that supports 1080 x 2408 pixels with Full HD+ resolution and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz.

It comes with a 6000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging the USB-C port on the bottom of the smartphone. The Vivo Y55s is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It comes with 128GB pf UFS 2.1 internal storage.

As far as the optics department is concerned, the Vivo Y55s packs a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel sensor. It has a single front camera for selfies and video calls that is 8-megapixel.

The other features that are available on the Y55s include dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a microSD card slot, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Vivo Y55s runs on Android 11 and weighs just 199.8 grams. It also comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. The Vivo Y55s 5G is offered in Blue, Pink, or Black colour options and is priced at CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs. 20,000).

However, the smartphone is yet to be launched for sale on the company website and third-party retailers in China. There is no information yet on when Vivo will be launching the Y55s smartphone in India.

In related news, Vivo it seems has a couple of other Y-series smartphones in the pipeline for the Chinese market. The Vivo V2140A and V2140A have recently appeared on the TENAA certification website with full specifications.

According to rumors these smartphones will be launching as Vivo Y10 and Vivo Y32 respectively. The Vivo Y33s 5G is another Y-lineup waiting in the pipeline to be launched. So far, the Y33s 5G has only appeared at the 3C certification site.
